A New Year’s Resolution You Can Stick To!
It’s January and time for people to dive into their New Year’s resolutions! We often take this time to reflect on the year behind us and set our sights on the upcoming year and all of the promises it holds. Most Americans want to put health first when getting ready for a fresh start in the New Year especially because health-related resolutions are so popular like to detox after the holiday festivities, lose weight and get fit, quit smoking, eat healthier, reduce stress, drink less, etc.
We all know how important our health is, but it can be hard to make it a priority in the hustle-bustle of daily life. Taking better care of our health often tops the list of New Year’s resolutions. But TIME points out those common resolutions are also the top resolutions most likely to be broken! They say 45% of people make New Year’s resolutions but only 8% can follow-through with them. This may be because our resolutions are so broad, they can be a little overwhelming. For example, “Lose Weight and Get Fit,” is the most common New Year’s resolution but it is a general goal, and the most well-meaning people might start the year off with a bang only to lose sight of this goal a few months later. For better results, New Year’s resolutions should be small, specific, and achievable. If you have a big goal for the year, break it down into a simple and more achievable program.
SOL SPA, The World’s First 24 Hour Day Spa, offers Hot Detox Yoga sessions inside an infrared sauna, 24 hours a day. For those not familiar with infrared technology, in short, it’s one of the most efficient ways to heat using an invisible light on an electromagnetic spectrum. Don’t confuse infrared yoga with hot yoga or a yoga studio that’s heated by central air. Compared to steam saunas or conventional heat, infrared is thought to be far more effective at detoxifying heavy metals in the body such as mercury and aluminum, cholesterol, alcohol, nicotine, ammonia, sulfuric acid, and other environmental toxins that tend to be found in the body.
Hot Detox Yoga can aid in your weight loss journey in other ways too. One of the physical deterrents for weight loss is a slower metabolism. Our metabolisms are part of a more extensive system known as the endocrine system. This system is made up of glands and helps regulate your metabolism and other body parts. When the endocrine system isn’t working correctly, it causes your metabolism to slow down, which will cause you to hold onto extra weight. Infrared saunas can penetrate your skin to reach the endocrine system directly. This stimulation makes your endocrine system more efficient, speeding up your metabolism and helping you lose some of that stubborn weight.
So, don’t miss out on becoming a member at a SOL SPA near you and get 2023 started the right way, with an achievable detox, weight loss, and health goal!
