Post Thanksgiving Regrets? We Can Help.
So the leftover turkey is in the fridge, the trash is full of empty wine bottles, and the idea of starving yourself and staying in bed all weekend sounds tempting, especially since you’re planning to be in sweatpants for the next 48 hours because pants that button sound implausible. Welcome to the days after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as the days of painful bloating, undeniable sluggishness, and mild (or extreme) regret. We’ve all fallen victim to exclaiming “I can never eat again!” after Thanksgiving dinner or feeling lethargic and regretful for days after.
It’s no surprise that binge diets, total starvation, and even “Thanksgiving detox” are popular trends following the holiday (if you don’t believe me, Google “thanksgiving x, y, or z'' and find hundreds of hits). Juice cleanses, those “lose weight quick” diets, and every type of detox program will boom, and guilt-ridden dieters download MyFitnessPal and eat salad for lunch as a means of “atoning for their sins.” But no matter what you eat on Thanksgiving (or how much of it), these panic driven decisions are unnecessary (and might even be damaging).
SOL SPA has a much healthier suggestion! We have produced an excellent “Hot Detox Yoga” program designed to provide an amazing workout with a great detox effect based on the use of a flow of postures choreographed for detox and practiced inside of an infrared sauna.
Yoga, even without the heat, helps the body’s natural detoxification systems to function properly.
